Peters is a graphic design and communication design educator and researcher with a Ph.D. from the School of Media and Communication at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. She also holds a Master's Degree in Graphic Design from Oklahoma City University. She has five years of experience in teaching all required major courses of B.F.A. in graphic design at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Okla. She also taught all levels of graphic design, packaging design, industrial design, and research method courses of B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Education programs in the Department of Architectural Education and Design at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Bangkok, Thailand. She has experience in conducting research with and for government organizations and communities in Thailand and in the U.S. Her research emphasizes three areas: participatory graphic design, communication and interactive design for accessibility.
