Research areas and interests: Songuol's research is focused on contemporary art in Saudi Arabia. She is particularly interested in place and identity. Her research aims to create a new vision through a phenomenology of identity in contemporary art.

Education: She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts in 2017. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Art Education with a minor in Southwest Asian and North African art history. Recently, she received a certificate in art museum education in 2021 from UNT CVAD.
