Equipment Checkout

About the Service

The CVAD Equipment Checkout Service allows you to check out state-owned equipment for university use — academic or professional — for a set amount of time, free of charge.

Eligibility

To use the CVAD Equipment Checkout Service, you must be a current UNT student enrolled in at least one CVAD course during the semester you request equipment. The CVAD Student Computer Lab verifies enrollment each semester before approving access to the service.

UNT CVAD faculty and staff may also use the service on a case-by-case basis.

Apply for Eligibility

To apply for eligibility, users must submit a Terms of Agreement form each semester, found at the top of this page.

A valid UNT student or employee ID or Mean Green ID card is required to check out equipment. You may not check out equipment using another person’s card.

Location and Reservations

Following an approved eligibility check, equipment may be checked out at the CVAD Student Computer Lab in the Art Building, Room 375.

Reservations are not necessary, but you may reserve equipment or browse our catalog of available equipment online by following these steps.

  • Visit the WebCheckOut webpage and log in with your EUID and password.
  • Click the icon labeled “Centers
    • on a desktop > left side;
    • on mobile > bottom of screen.
  • Scroll to and select the “CVAD Student Computer Lab” as your checkout center.
  • Search the catalog and click the “New” icon to initiate a reservation.

Checkout and Renewal Periods

For most equipment, items will be issued for one week. Items are due back one hour before the Student Computer Lab closes — check the CVAD SCL hours on the CVAD Hours webpage.

Renewal requests can be made by visiting in person in the Art Building, Room 375, during the lab's operating hours. You may also speak to a staff member at 940-565-2470 or email cvadITcheckout@unt.edu.

Renewals extend the due date by an additional week unless otherwise specified.

Requests are approved or denied based on current inventory; renewals may be denied if there are students on a waitlist for the equipment.
