UNT’s award-winning Student Money Management Center is here to help you! The professional SMMC staff provide workshops and confidential counseling sessions. Contact the SMMC by email at Money.Management@unt.edu.
Note: The center also provides emergency funding to students in need through the Eagle Support Program. This is a loan-based program that addresses cost-of-attendance expenses specific to UNT. How do you do that? Start by filling out the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA®! All students are strongly encouraged to complete this application — even if you are interested only in scholarships. You may be eligible for a little or a lot, but only those who apply will know!
Note: Nearly all students who complete the FAFSA receive some type of financial assistance. Financial aid awards are funded and regulated by federal and state governments, so applying for and receiving financial aid is a process. You must apply each year: a new FAFSA is available annually by Oct. 1.
BTW, You will need this: UNT's school code is 003594
Early! What's early? Every Oct. 1 the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA® comes out — start then if you want aid for the next year. Through the FAFSA®, your eligibility can be determined for you to receive the maximum award possible. Did you know that there is less money to give away later in the cycle? So, apply in October!
Important: Apply every year with a new application — new year: new application — for every year that you want help for your upcoming semesters! Did we say early? The earlier you apply the better because later in the year the money often already has been given away.
