Art Building & Art Annex Hours

The physical address of the Art Building is 1201 W Mulberry St., Denton, Texas, 76201. The physical address of the Art Annex is 1001 W Mulberry St., Denton, Texas, 76201.

Art Building Hours 

Winter Break Hours: Dec. 14, 2024–Jan. 2, 2025

Monday–Thursday: 7 a.m.–10 p.m.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Closed

Swipe access with an ID card is not allowed for undergraduates during the winter break.

Art Annex Hours of Operation

ID-card swipe access only. The northside door facing West Mulberry Street is for access to ceramics classrooms and faculty offices; the southside door on West Sycamore Street is for access to the CVAD graduate studios.

Long Semester After-Hours Access: Spring and Fall

The Art Building schedule for after regular hours is as follows.

  • Monday–Thursday: Midnight–11:59 p.m., 24 hours a day
  • Friday: Midnight–5 p.m. Note: The building is inaccessible from Friday, 5 p.m. to Saturday, 9 a.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.–11:59 p.m.
  • Sunday: Midnight–11:59 p.m.

Art Building access for undergraduates granted after-hours access is as follows. Note: No access is available during the Winter Break.

  • Monday–Thursday: Midnight–11:59 p.m.
  • Friday: Midnight–5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.–11:59 p.m.
  • Sunday: Midnight–11:59 p.m.

Art Building Access for graduate students

  • Access to the Art Building is available 24/7 during the long semesters for graduate students.
  • Access to specific areas is to be determined by programs in consultation with their department chairs. 

After-hours Schedule for Swipe Access

Monday–Thursday: Swipe from 10 p.m.–7 a.m.
Friday: Closed from 5 p.m.–7 a.m.
Saturday: Swipe from 5 p.m. –7 a.m.
Sunday: Swipe in from 10 p.m.–7 a.m.

For more information about accessing the building by swiping your UNT ID card, visit the CVAD News and Views web page, After-hours Student Access to the Art Building and Art Annex. Undergraduate students can apply for this access on the first day of classes of a long semester.

Important: Swipe access requests will not be submitted to the UNT Access Control office until the day after UNT's census day of a long semester and can take up to 24 hours to be activated.

UNT Public Safety Officer Hours

Each fall and spring semester, CVAD is funded to cover staffing of night-time Public Safety Officers, allowing current CVAD students to access the Art Building by swiping their valid UNT ID card after the college's regular operating hours. A UNT Public Safety Officer will be in the Art Building during the following hours.

Critique Spaces in the Art Building

To reserve critique spaces, please visit the CVAD Reservations Booked Scheduler Portal and search for critique spaces from the drop-down menu.

Einstein Bros. Bagels Restaurant

Check the UNT Dining Services website for the Einstein Bros. Bagels restaurant's current hours of operation in the Art Building.
