The Cora Stafford Gallery features two spaces, showcasing solo exhibitions for M.F.A.
students, CVAD's annual Faculty Exhibition, and, since 1960, the annual Voertman Juried Student Art Competition and Exhibition. The gallery is named after Cora Stafford, Ph.D. (1897-1964), an imaginative and enlightened leader who served as a faculty member
and art department director from 1921 until her retirement in 1964.

As a leader of the North Texas visual arts program from 1929–1964, her lasting impact
is evident, and her contributions extend to art textbooks she authored and co-authored
for public schools.
