Andrew DeCaen’s creative research focuses on printmaking, drawing, and sculptural works employing paper. Eating and other rituals surrounding food are the context of his work. These artworks explore the space, time, and manner in which we eat, prepare, and acquire our meals. Andrew DeCaen was born in Ventura, California. He received a BA from the University of Dallas and an M.F.A. from the University of South Dakota. DeCaen’s prints, drawings, and paper sculptures have been shown broadly in the US and internationally in Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, England, Finland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Romania, Sweden, and Turkey. His work has been featured in publications such as Printmaking TodayDrawing magazine, and 500 Paper Objects
