About

Marcy Bishop-Lilley coaches students and alumni in the following visual arts and design concentrations of the College of Visual Arts and Design.

  • Communication Design,
  • Pre-Communication Design,
  • Interior Design,
  • Pre-Interior Design,
  • Drawing and Painting,
  • New Media,
  • Photography, and
  • Pre-Studio Art

Bishop-Lilley earned an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from UNT and a B.A. in Art Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She enjoys helping UNT students by facilitating an environment where they can find and acknowledge their strengths to pursue their dreams. When she is not at UNT, she is brunching, traveling, snuggling her puppies, and gardening with her husband. The best piece of advice she received was, “Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing gonna be all right.” She has been described as creative, calm, and thoughtful.

Want to learn more about how Marcy can help you? Current students and recent graduates — who graduated one year ago or more recently — can schedule an appointment through Navigate. Experienced alumni — who graduated more than one year ago — can check out the career advice options available on the Alumni page.

Bishop-Lilley is a mentor, practicing artist, and educator and has served in many roles within CVAD core drawing and design and as an assistant to the drawing program. Bishop-Lilley has held positions as a studio assistant to faculty and a woodshop assistant; she currently instructs art appreciation courses in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lilley has been featured in Canvas Rebel Magazine for her perspective on the unique aspects of career advising for art and design students.
