Shrestha is an artist who works across media and holds M.F.A. degrees from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bangalore University, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Shrestha has described his work as exploring the possibilities and upshot of myths, memory and metaphor — the 3Ms — on the body and as "probing politics and its implications on the body in socio-political and metaphysical context at the micro-level.
