About
Beth Link's research applies critical theory on race and whiteness to visual art curriculum,
enactment, and teacher-identity formation to understand the complex ways teachers
bridge difference and tell stories through art objects. She is curious about how art
educators address cultures they are not a part of, and how racial logics inform curriculum
design and enactment.
Link received a doctorate in curriculum and instruction specializing in cultural studies
at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also earned an M.A. in art education.
Link has over a decade of teaching experience in elementary schools, community arts,
and art museums and has facilitated arts-integrated professional development for K-12
teachers across the globe. She is currently co-authoring a book on transformative
professional learning in art integration and has writing featured in Art Education,
and Studies in Art Education.
